Why San Diego chooses 5 IN 1 Construction

San Diego City is the densest, most varied building landscape we work in. 1920s Craftsman bungalows in Mission Hills, mid-century homes in Clairemont and Linda Vista, modernist Eichlers in San Carlos, and 1970s-90s tract homes in Mira Mesa and Bay Park. Permits go through the City of San Diego, which adds time but is straightforward once you know the inspectors.

We have been remodeling San Diego homes since 1987. The Carrasco family runs every job site, the same in-house crew handles your project from rough-in to final walk, and we pull every permit in your name. No subcontractors, no surprise fees, and a one-year workmanship warranty.

Common questions

How much do kitchen cabinets cost in San Diego?+

Stock cabinets in San Diego run $5,000 to $10,000 for a typical kitchen. Semi-custom runs $10,000 to $18,000. Fully custom is $18,000 to $40,000+. Refacing is usually $4,000 to $9,000 if the existing boxes are good.

Stock vs semi-custom vs custom — which should I get?+

Stock cabinets come in fixed sizes and finishes — great for budget builds. Semi-custom lets you pick sizes, colors, and door styles from a catalog. Fully custom is built for your space from scratch, ideal for non-standard layouts or specific design needs.

How long until they arrive?+

Stock cabinets are usually 1 to 2 weeks. Semi-custom is 4 to 6 weeks. Fully custom is 6 to 10 weeks. We order at the start of the project so they are ready when we need them.

Can I just replace the doors?+

Yes — that is refacing. If your cabinet boxes are structurally solid, we can swap doors, drawer fronts, and hardware and you get a brand-new look for half the cost of a replace.

What cabinet styles are popular in San Diego right now?+

In San Diego, white shaker is still the most common request. Two-tone (white uppers, navy or sage lowers) is the second-most. Slab-front in rift-cut white oak is trending for modern homes.
